Top Doggy Training offers a positive reinforcement based training program that uses a “mark and reward” technique to effectively communicate the desired behavior. The clicker (or marker) is a tool that can make positive reinforcement training more efficient. After being repeatedly associated with a treat or reward, a clicker becomes a conditioned reinforcer.

Patty has always had a passion for dogs so it’s no wonder that dog training would be a natural path to follow. Her passion and interest led to multiple opportunities in the training industry including consulting with World-renowned dog trainer, CPDT-KA Emily Larlham, AKA Kikopup.
Patty is a certified member of APDT, “The Association of Professional Dog Trainers.” Between training dogs and building her business, Patty is a Training and Behavior Volunteer at the Annenberg Petspace, which focuses on the dynamic bond between people and their pets, as well as the origins and science of that relationship. This has given Patty the opportunity to work alongside the incredible CPDT-KA Certified Professional Dog trainer, Katie McGuire.
Patty finds continued education to be an essential part of her ability to be an effective trainer and continues to attend virtual seminars and on-line training courses to enhance her skills.

Free Phone Consultation
The phone consultation gives us the opportunity to discuss all your pets needs in detail. How long you’ve had your dog, breed, age, behaviors, goals, family dynamics, etc. At this time, we’ll also discuss method of training, rates and scheduling for the in-home consultation.
In-Home Consultation
An In-Home dog behavior consultation and assessment is absolutely necessary before moving on with the training program. I will come to your home and meet you and your dog. This gives me the opportunity to see how your dog behaves as a new person approaches the house, enters the home, as well as recognize any other behaviors or triggers that we might have missed on the call. We will then create and customize a training plan to cover all the unwanted behaviors as well as address any other behaviors that present themselves during the consultation.
Consultation Fee: $50 for 30 minutes
Free: With the purchase of a 20 package training session.
Private Walk and Train
The Private Walk and Train is a great combination of exploring, loose leash walking, exercise, individual attention, socialization and focusing on good basic manners to ensure your dog’s mental and physical needs are being met. A great solution for busy dog owner’s and for those that want some one-on-one time just with the Trainer and your doggy.
Price: $50 for 30 minutes

Private In-Home Puppy Training
Introduction to handling, focus, attention and name game, clicker training, touch cues, luring, mouthing, potty training and “go to your bed”. Eight - 20 weeks old is a perfect time to train your puppy so you can enjoy a well balanced obedient puppy for years to come. Let’s get started.
Price: $70 for 45 minutes

Private In-Home Basic Behavior Training
The Private In-Home Basic Behavior session includes training your dog specific cues using positive reinforcement and providing you and your family with the tools to exercise these behaviors in between the private sessions. Positive reinforcement is one of the most powerful tools for shaping or changing your dog’s behavior. Both visual and verbal cues will be used to train a certain behavior. The reward makes the dog more likely to repeat the desired behavior again and again.
Beginner to Advanced Cues include, but are not limited to: Introduction to Clicker, Touch Cues, Release Cue, Focus, Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Leave it, Drop it, Off (No jump), Recall, Loose Leash Walking, Heel, Settle, Wait and “Go to Bed”.

Private In-Home Behavior Modification
The Private In-Home Behavior modification training session addresses a broad range of issues such as barking and lunging on walks, separation anxiety, fear of noises, people or other dogs, resource guarding and many other behavior issues. In order to provide a proper behavior plan, together we will identify what the presenting issues are in each case. How the issues begin, what occurs when the issues begin and what happens after the issues occur. Once identified, we will use a positive reinforcement approach offering training exercises and techniques that involve rewards, counter conditioning, desensitization and shaping. Through clear positive reinforcement, repetition, consistency, the least intrusive and minimally aversive strategy we are likely to succeed in achieving a behavior change and positive solution.
Price: $90 for 45 minutes

Doggy Prep
Via Zoom or In Person, this is for anyone welcoming a new puppy, rescue. adult dog or an additional dog into their family in the upcoming future. Discussion includes dog selection, breed, age, energy level, etc. Preparation includes setting up the home, family routines, doggy behaviors, doggy training, physical and mental stimulation.
Price: $50 for 30 minutes
Best results will occur when owners’ practice the behaviors taught during the training sessions consistently
for approximately 5 - 10 minutes every day.

Cancellations
Private training sessions may be rescheduled with no penalty up to 24 hours before the scheduled appointment.
Full payment is due if cancellation is less than 24 hour notice.
Illness - If you or your dog are ill, please stay home and check in with your veterinarian. We will reschedule our private session once your dog has returned to good health.
